- Is SettleMe really free?
- Yes. Starter is free, forever, with unlimited invoices, quotations and customers. There's no card to enter, ever. We make money when businesses outgrow Starter and upgrade for branding, customer statements, or recurring billing. Automatic email reminders are included free.
- How do I pay for Pro or Team?
- The same way your clients pay you. Review a plan in Settings. Businesses that have not used a trial can start a 7-day free trial. If your business has already used its trial, paid features start after EFT payment is confirmed. We send you a SettleMe invoice for the first period, due on the last day of the trial, and you pay it by EFT. Pay it and your plan carries on. Don't, and your account simply returns to Starter with nothing deleted. Renewals work the same way: an invoice a week before your period ends.
- What happens to my invoices if I downgrade or cancel?
- Your invoice history stays in your account. You can view, download, and export everything you've ever created. If you downgrade to Starter, the SettleMe wordmark returns on new documents, but nothing from your history is deleted, and sent invoices keep the branding they went out with.
- Can I change plans mid-month?
- Your first eligible trial starts when you confirm it. Otherwise, paid features start after EFT payment is confirmed. Ending renewal keeps your plan until the paid period ends; ending an unpaid trial or request is immediate. To change plan or billing period, end the current subscription and choose the new offer after it finishes. There is no proration.
- Do you offer a discount for non-profits or very small businesses?
- Starter is free forever and covers most very small businesses completely. If you're a registered non-profit and need Pro or Team, send us a message. We'll work something out.
